Pediatric Dental Services
At our Lafayette location, we enjoy caring for patients of all ages, including children. We are pleased to provide pediatric dentistry to help you keep your child’s smile in good health. We encourage you to bring your child to our office every six months for a regular dental exam and cleaning. Each member of our team is caring and gentle, and we are practiced at making children feel comfortable.

Although children’s baby teeth are only temporary, it is still crucial to take care of their oral health and ensure proper development.
Our doctors are pediatric dentistry professionals who offer multiple services to care for your child’s teeth. From routine cleanings and exams to restorative dental care, we’ll help your child develop a healthy smile with exceptional oral health.
As a pediatric dental office, we offer the services to address the oral health needs of every young patient.
We use Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) to help protect your child’s teeth from cavities and tooth decay. SDF consists of water, fluoride, silver, and ammonia, which help protect against cavities and strengthen a tooth. In some cases, our pediatric dentists will use SDF instead of a dental filling.
Certain habits like thumb sucking or nail biting can seem like a harmless part of childhood. However, these habits can have detrimental effects on your child’s dental health. A habit appliance focuses on prevention by discouraging your child from unhealthy habits and promoting proper tooth and jaw development.

Treatment

We will apply a local anesthetic to prevent pain and discomfort during the procedure. And your child will be free to eat and drink immediately afterward.
While fillings are an excellent treatment option for cavities and dental disease, some situations may require a root canal. If the infection spreads to the roots of your child’s tooth, our pediatric dentists may suggest a baby root canal.
A baby root canal removes the infection from the tooth while preventing further damage and protecting the child’s incoming adult teeth. We typically use a local anesthetic or laughing gas to relieve a child patient of anxiety and eliminate discomfort during the procedure.
Dental crowns are another restorative treatment option to help restore your child’s tooth if they have a severe infection. Our pediatric dentists will often recommend applying a dental crown after a root canal.
